Slim Goodbody Show

The Slim Goodbody Show was wonderful and if it comes to your area I highly recommend it! Especially if you have elementary age kids, it does a very good job of being educational and fun all at the same time. Here is the website if you want to check it out: http://www.slimgoodbody.com/
(It looks like he will be in Minnesota in May.)
This trip was especially wonderful for me because for one, it was held at The Orpheum Theatre in Phoenix and let me tell you that this building is pretty sensational!
You can kind of see the outside of it in the background there but it really does it no justice at all! It is amazing! Here are some shots of the inside, again, does it no justice... but amazing!

I studied Architecture in college and I just love these buildings that are very ornate, detailed, and just beautiful!
Another thing that I loved so much about today is that Mr. Cookie came with us! :-) It always makes me happy to spend family time with our big guy. Here he is with some of the homeschool group we went there with.
We had front row seating! We have never sat in the front row like that before... pretty cool!
Slim even waved at Baby Mini Chip! (Which was a thrill for the big kids, but he didn't really take much notice.)
After the show, we went to this street vendor for lunch, that was a fun experience too!
We talked with the ladies that run it for a bit and learned that there is a whole lot more to being a street vendor than first meets the eye! There are lots of permits, inspections, auctions for locations, and on and on! We ate lunch on the street there too, well, at the bench along side the street that is.
:-)
What a day!! We had so much fun!

Mini Chip...

I busted the little fella being all cute and waiting all patient like for his lunch.
He actually let me snap the picture too!
(He has been TOTALLY messing with my picture taking! Grrrr!)

CHECK HIM OUT!!
He thinks his tongue is REALLY fun!
Every time I think he can't get any cuter... he does!!
Course, he is his Daddy's boy! :-)

Human Body Unit

As part of studying about the human body and it's systems, we made life-sized cutouts of the kids...
... and the cat! LOL!!
It is hard to see in the pictures, but the cutouts do have legs and arms... The project kind of morphed into a more artistic, designing thing than I had originally planned, I just let the girls imaginations go! It was VERY cool! They wanted clothes on their persons too, not organs! What if someone saw them! LOL!! In the end the baby wound up with the organs and the cat made a life-sized replica of herself as well! LOL!!

Tuesday is library day here, so this week we tried another new library...
Chocolate Chip even ran into an AWANA friend there!
WOW!! :-)

At this library the librarian told us about another branch library that was alot bigger, so, we went there too!
There was this life-sized metal tree there called The Learning Tree. Really cool!

Tomorrow we go to the Slim Goodbody show!
SO EXCITED!!

HELLO FEBRUARY!!

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT IS FEBRUARY!!
 Mini Chip LOVES sweet potatoes!
(He looks good in them too, don't ya think! LOL!)

He and I played with blocks on the floor while the big kids did the big floor puzzle in the other room.
This Melissa & Doug 4' Human Anatomy floor puzzle is PERFECT for our unit on the human body and it's systems! It's a two sided puzzle. One side is the skeleton and the names of the major bones of the body and the other side is of the circulatory system and the major organs of the body.
The kids love puzzles!
And I do too! :-)
I made this Italian soup for supper. It was super easy and pretty tasty too!

Mr. Cookie is driving home from a jobsite that is 7+/- hrs away.
DRIVE SAFE Mr. Cookie! :-)

So... that is some of what we did on the first day of the new month...
How did you start your month?

GOODBYE JANUARY!!

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT'S THE LAST DAY OF JANUARY!!!!

This is what we did on the last day of the month...

Build-your-own Monster Jam... LOL!!
Assemble the new carpet cleaner... with the little boy's help!
FUN! FUN!

Chocolate Chip made us Mac-n-Cheese for lunch!
Mmm! Mmm!
 Tickle, Snuggle, and Wrestle...

Oreo made her first ever stir-fry! YUMMY!!
Relaxed in the tub... Ahhh... THAT's more like it!
Scrub-a-Dub-Dub!!!
Little guy just learned how to make the raspberry sound and fully enjoys practicing! LOL!

We are going to see 'Slim Goodbody' at the Orpheum Theatre this week, so we are studying the human body, it's systems, nutrition, fitness, digestion... and all that (including a lapbook which is so much fun) to prepare for the show and it seemed like a good time to tie all that in to our school year too.

Monster Jam Girls and Mini Chip

Okay, so I am told that Monster Jam is:
TOTALLY AWESOME! by Chocolate Chip,
LOUD and AMAZING! by Oreo, and
EXTREME! by Butterscotch Chip

While everyone was at Monster Jam, Mini Chip and I went to a new church with the neighbors, made a yummy stir fry for supper, and took a long, playful bath together.
It was a very nice evening. They didn't get home until 10:30ish... much later than I had thought they would. The church was very nice and the sermon was wonderful - detailing the beatitudes, and it was nice getting to know our neighbors a little. I'm pretty sure that it is not the church I will be attending regularly (I will keep it in mind though), but I wouldn't mind attending service with the neighbors on occasion.
Sunday we caught up on some much needed rest and did a few chores. Sunday night, Mini Chip decided to try licking his lips... CUTE!!!
After every bite, he would lick his lips, the point being of course to get the food off of them and into his mouth, but we think he pushed more food out than anything! He was determined though and couldn't figure out why everyone was laughing and looking at him!
:-) LOL :-)

MINI CHIPS FIRST COOKIE!!

GUESS WHAT MINI CHIP LOVES...
 COOKIES, of course!
These pictures are actually of his second cookie because we were enjoying watching him so much while he was eating his first one. LOL!

Too Cute!!
