Weekend Update and A Lesson in TP

This weekend was nice in that it felt pretty relaxing; which in turn seems to make it feel slightly longer. The exhaustion of Mr. Cookie, having been working 16 hour days and traveling so much, became very clear to all on Saturday as I'm not sure which one was awake more: Mini Chip or Mr. Cookie!

After our wore out guy got some much needed rest he proceeded to get lots done in lawn care and garage clean out on Sunday. Sunday evening we were blessed with a visit from the young couple who will be staying in our house while we are in Arizona. It was nice to introduce the kids and to show them around.

Over the weekend, I was reminded of a lesson I learned recently. We moved into this beautiful house 7 years ago this July 1 and the toilets have been overflowing almost daily since that day. Not too long ago Mr. Cookie and I decided we had had enough and called the plumber to just clean all the pipes, all the way to the street, enough was enough! However, instead this very wonderful plumber suggested to me that the toilet paper we used was the source of the problem, to try using lighter weight TP and see how it went.

Well, let me just tell you that I have spent a good portion of my life on a quest for the softest and most wonderful TP on the market and truly believed I had found it! I took his suggestion and set out to prove him wrong! No way was I giving up my TP!

It has now been about 2 months since that day. And I CANNOT even force that stupid toilet to overflow!! And believe me, I have tried!! LOL :-)

All kidding aside the new toilet paper is actually not bad and I LOVE not having the toilet issue. Even the kids are starting to flush again rather than being afraid of a nasty mess. I never would have guessed that TP had managed to become too good for our toilets to process.

Blessings come in so very many different shapes, sizes, and weights!!

Have a blessed day!

Walker Art Center & Minneapolis Sculpture Garden

This is the Walker Art Center. We visited there on Thursday this week. On Thursdays it is Target Free Night from 5-9 pm. It was really neat. Butterscotch Chip has been wanting to go there for a long time. I'm glad we got to go before we left for Arizona. The girls asked what this was! LOL!! I think that at one time in history every family in America had this exact rotary phone and my kids wonder what "it" is! Amazing!! After I took this photo they informed me that I couldn't take photos, so there are no more from the art center.
This is the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. The Spoon Bridge and Cherry has been a first grade art project at my kids elementary school for many years. Chocolate Chip just finished it a couple months back and has been wanting to see it in person. The girls were happy to see that the water part of the cherry was working.
Aren't they just beautiful!!
The swing, the mirrors, and the rabbit and bell were the other highlights of the sculpture garden for my girls.

The sculpture garden is always free and has lots of different displays. The weather was perfect for us to roam around outside and the only thing that could have made it better was if Mr. Cookie could have been there with us.
Have a happy day!

A Good Deal of Treasures

"Old fashioned" tea set. The girls have been collecting play tea sets for years, now we have this awesome, beautiful, dainty real one to have tea parties with! It is sooo exciting!! I had to spend some time cleaning it up and removing some stains, but for $10.00 it is well worth it! These mega blocks were a great deal at $5.00! My big kids even tried them out for Mini Chip and loved them!
This little baby was my screaming deal of June! Brand new in the box, $20.00! He won't grow into it for a while, but I simply couldn't resist Mini Chips mini quad!
Happy bargain hunting!

Do pinkies go out or stay in?

The wonderful and spectacular Auntie Cookie visited us on Monday this week! She is soo loved!! Monday we had fried rice for supper and...
even Chocolate Chip thought it was good... with her eyes closed anyway!
Mini Chip still thinks big sister cookies are the best! And this Mom thinks Butterscotch Chip is especially good with Mini Chip. Butterscotch is working hard at being more cooperative and helpful. It makes me so happy how she really wants to be the best big sister she can be not just for Mini Chip but for her sisters also. What a joy my girl is! Thanks Butterscotch Chip!
Chocolate Chip loves to have feathers in her hands and say REALLY loudly "I believe I can Fly!" while jumping up and down or off the stairs. She was also being my little kitty cat on Monday, you can kind of see the little kitty mask on top of her head.
The girls entertained themselves making finger shadows for an amazingly long time on Tuesday. It was fun to see the different things they came up with.
Oreo, Chocolate Chip, and her friend love to play with babies, especially now that they have a real live baby to play with. Can you believe my little guy actually fits in that tiny cradle!
This is an outfit that all of the cookie kids have worn in their first weeks.
Oreo and I took some special time together to have "coffee" on Wednesday while our van was getting a much needed oil change. The only real question is this: Is cappuccino really coffee? We are not sure! :-) It was so nice to be able to really listen to her and focus on her for a little while. She has been so helpful with Mini Chip and all of the things we need to get done before we move. It is a joy to have such a wonderful daughter! Thanks Oreo!! And to my great surprise, when we got home, Butterscotch Chip, Chocolate Chip, and her friend were having a tea party! The great debate was "do pinkies go out or stay in". Grandma Cookie and I love tea and drink a great deal of it. I like many different kinds of tea but Grandma Cookie really only drinks Lipton tea and that is what Butterscotch loves too. And now Chocolate Chip loves Lipton tea too! With lots of honey of course! Amazing!!

And so I ask you... is cappuccino really coffee? And do pinkies go out or stay in?

Father's Day Weekend 2010

Hanging out with our exhausted, hard working Daddy Cookie!
Mini Chip sucks his thumb! Adorable!
Mini Chip's first shower! Thanks Daddy!
Painting Daddy's shed, well priming it took all day Saturday, so the painting will be another weekend.

Big sister cookies are the best!

We went up north and visited with Grandpa Cookie for Father's Day and was able to see Grandma Cookie, Aunts, and Uncles too. It was short but we had a nice time.

Mr. Cookie had to return to Arizona this morning for work. Our week will be full of doctor, chiropractor, dentist, and van appointments. I'm still trying to coax a schedule out of Mini Chip, he likes to keep me guessing. He's soo fun!

Have a happy day!

Introducing Mini Chip!!

Our precious new addition, Mini Chip, arrived on 6/8/10 @ 3:28pm.
He weighed in at 8lbs 9ozs, 21-1/2" long, and cute as a bug!

These are his adorable little feet!

Today he is 8 days old and adored by all around him. The girls are constantly kissing and rekissing his sweet little head and cheeks. They love to hold him and burp him. I have not once heard a single complaint about his crying and taking all of Mom's time. I am truly blessed with the most wonderful children!
